Meet Me

I am so touched by these words of this song by Bobby Michaels. He dedicates this work --

This song is for our Cambodian hosts, Setan and Randa Lee, who survived the Cambodian "Killing Fields." Setan was saved from death when, at the edge of a pit with a Khmer Rouge soldier poised to kill him, he called out to the "Lord of the Universe" to save him, promising he would spend the rest of his life telling others about the "Lord of the Universe"  -- Jesus.

Meet Me

Meet me, I'll meet you
In the quiet of this room
I'll close the door of life, Lord,
For a moment with you.

Meet me, Oh, I'll meet you
In the quiet of this room
You'll show yourself in this holy place.
I'll know you.

Meet me, Oh, I'll meet you
In the quiet of this room
Prepare me now for things to come
For the honor of you.

Lord of the Universe, be Lord of me
Loosing bonds of all wickedness
Setting me free
Break every yoke
That now separates me from you
Lord of the Universe, be Lord of me.

Come near to God and He will come near to you.
(James 4:8)

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me
(John 10:27)

If the Son therefore has made you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36)

Is this not the type of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? (Isaiah 58:6)

He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free. (Psalm 146:7)
